This course builds photography and image editing skills (Photoshop and Lightroom) into a week (4 days) of exploring London with your camera, and with expert guidance at your side.

You will begin to discover what your eyes are drawn to on the streets, to be inspired when to take the picture, learn how to capture a strong visual of the space you are in, and then to edit (post-produce) to bring your photography to the best it can be, using our Mac computers and Editing software back at the studio.

The course will start with a refresher of camera skills, heading out quickly to put these into practice, and returning already on Day 1 to do a first edit.
The following days will be a mix and match, based on the group’s particular editing interests (you might want to design and create a book, create flyers for a party, or design your first business card using your own photography…), so we may include some shoot time, with editing time booked to enable review and work on “perfecting” your images or creating your design goal!

Great for anyone wanting to progress and develop their camera skills and ability in Adobe Photoshop and /or Lightroom editing, as well as getting to meet some new like-minded creative teens!

Photoshop techninques could include:

  • bringing out the best visual highlights within an image
  • adding new colours/ going a bit crazy with saturation…
  • altering a single part of an image (cloning, magnetic lasso, magic wand, etc.)
  • overlapping images to create collages (layers, etc.)
  • adding text to create posters, etc.
    and LOTS more!

This course can be used as a Skill for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme.
