We approached Leeds Castle with a proposal to use the backdrop of the location for teaching workshops around a rising technology – smartphone photography and mobile post-production for social mediated image. Leeds Castle has a varied and competitive event list containing all the classic creative disciplines – from music to writing to painting. It was the perfect venue, where old meets new, to test bringing the learning not into a classroom atmosphere, but serve as an exciting location to learn a rapidly rising consumer technology. We designed a learning program which not only included photography, visualisation , and post-production but community motivation, incentive and real-time exhibition and critique.
